The Proclamation of the Angels: Heaven’s Announcement

Dec 28, 2025    Casey Harris

INTRODUCTION: We began this series with “The PROMISE Foretold”. Last week we focused on “The POWER of the Virgin Birth”. Today, we will look at “The PROCLAMATION of the Angels”. What happens “When Heaven Breaks the Silence”.

Imagine a MOMENT when the WORLD seems QUIET, no headlines, no announcements, no alarms. Then suddenly, the sky itself lights up, and heaven interrupts earth with a message too important to WHISPER.

In our modern world, major announcements come with press conferences, breaking news alerts, and social media blasts. But on the night Christ was born, God made the greatest announcement in human history, not in a palace, not through politicians, but in a pasture.

· No fanfare from Rome.

· No decree from Jerusalem.

· Just heaven opening its mouth.

As one preacher said,

“God’s greatest work was not introduced with EARTHLY SPLENDOR but HEAVENLY GLORY.” — Adrian Rogers

Luke 2 records that moment when God with us was proclaimed from above. The angels did not announce a THEORY, a PHILOSOPHY, or a PROGRAM; they announced a PERSON.

THE 3-TRUTHS OF THE ANGELIC PROCLAMATION

I. THE RECIPIENTS OF GRACE

a. This is God’s MESSAGE to the HUMBLE.

i. Luke 2:8–9 “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their

flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about

them: and they were sore afraid.”

b. SHEPHERDS were not RELIGIOUS ELITES

II. THE REVELATION OF GLORY — Heaven’s Joy in Redemption

a. This was no QUIET WHISPER because Heaven’s JOY is found in REDEMPTION.

i. Luke 2:13–14 “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and

saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

b. Suddenly, HEAVEN EXPLODED in PRAISE.

III. THE RESPONSE OF FAITH

a. FAITH will ALWAYS require a RESPONSE.

i. Luke 2:15–16 “And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the

shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem…And they came with haste, and found

Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.”

b. The ANGELS DEPARTED, but the MESSAGE REMAINED.
