Take Action, MEN!

INTRODUCTION: “The Huddle vs. The Play”

Imagine a football team that spends all their time in the HUDDLE. They study PLAYBOOK, discuss STRATEGY, encourage ONE ANOTHER, but never actually RUN THE PLAY. The crowd grows restless, the clock keeps ticking, and the opportunity for victory slips away.

MEN, too often we stay in the “HUDDLE” of GOOD INTENTIONS, BIBLE STUDY, and DISCUSSION, but FAIL to RUN THE PLAY. God calls us not only to BELIEVE, not only to PLAN, but to ACT. The Christian LIFE is not WON in the HUDDLE but on the FIELD of OBEDIENCE.

SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.”

2-REASONS MEN NEED TO RUN THE PLAY

1. FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD

We cannot say we are WATCHFUL, STEADFAST, STRONG, and LOVING if it never SHOWS in what we DO.

James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” 

A man’s FAITH must move from CONVICTION to COMMITMENT in ACTION.

2. REDEEM THE TIME, ACT NOW

MEN, TIME is FLEETING. 

Ephesians 5:15-16 “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time,

because the days are evil.” 

Colossians 4:5 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”

I love the phrase, “REDEEMING THE TIME.”

The ENEMY loves to LULL MEN into PROCRASTINATION, DISTRACTION, and PASSIVITY.
