Power from on High

Scripture: Acts 1:8

Introduction: The disciples had truth, experience, and even resurrection encounters—but they still lacked power. Knowledge without power produces ineffective Christianity.

Point 1: The Promise of Power

Greek: dunamis (δύναμις) = explosive power, ability

Explanation: This is not human strength; it is divine enablement.

Scripture:

Zechariah 4:6

Ephesians 3:20

Point 2: The Presence of the Spirit

Acts 1:8

Greek: epi (ἐπί) = upon, over

Explanation: The Spirit doesn’t just dwell within—He empowers outwardly.

Point 3: The Purpose of Power

“Ye shall be witnesses”

Explanation: Power is not for display, it is for mission.

Quote: “The Holy Spirit does not come to make us comfortable, but to make us witnesses.” — Francis Chan

Conclusion: Stop trying harder, start depending on power.
